This article explains the Skydive Swahili photo and video package.
It covers what is included, how the skydive is filmed, why tandem clients cannot carry personal cameras, how media is delivered, and what happens if camera footage is lost because of equipment malfunction.
The photo and video package is an optional paid service.
It can be requested at any point before the skydive.
The media package does not need to be selected at the time of booking.
The standard media package price is USD 100 per person.
The standard media package includes:
One edited video of approximately 4 minutes.
Approximately 10 to 12 high-resolution photos.
The video is delivered in:
MP4 format.
4K resolution.
Photos are delivered in:
JPEG format.
High resolution.
The media package usually captures the main parts of the tandem skydive experience.
This may include:
Ground preparation.
Gearing up.
Aircraft boarding.
Scenic aircraft climb to altitude.
Views of Diani Beach from the aircraft.
Exit from the aircraft.
Freefall.

The exact footage may vary depending on the skydive, camera position, participant movement, instructor operation, and the flow of the jump.
Skydive Swahili instructors use modern GoPro cameras to record tandem skydives.
The camera is mounted on the instructor’s hand.
This allows the instructor to film the tandem client during preparation, aircraft boarding, climb, exit, freefall, canopy flight, landing, and post-landing moments.
Tandem clients are not allowed to carry personal cameras during the skydive.
This includes:
Mobile phones.
Personal GoPro cameras.
Action cameras.
Handheld cameras.
Any other personal recording device.
This rule exists for skydiving safety reasons.
Loose, handheld, or incorrectly mounted items can create risks during aircraft operations, freefall, parachute deployment, canopy flight, or landing.
For tandem clients, the skydive is filmed by the instructor using approved camera equipment.
An external camera flyer is not part of the standard Skydive Swahili media package.
An external camera flyer may be requested for special arrangements.
This is subject to:
Availability.
Operational approval.
Safety considerations.
Additional cost.
External camera flyer requests must be discussed directly with Skydive Swahili staff before the jump.
Skydive Swahili provides edited media only.
Raw camera files are not provided.
The client receives the finished edited video and selected edited photos.
After the skydive, the camera media is processed by a Skydive Swahili videographer.
The media is:
Reviewed.
Edited.
Exported.
Uploaded to an online delivery platform.
Skydive Swahili aims to deliver the media link as soon as possible after the jump.
In most cases, the link is delivered on the same day or within 24 hours after the jump.
Depending on the number of videos being processed and the current workload, delivery may take up to 72 hours after the jump.

On that page, the client can:
Watch the video online.
Download the video to a phone, tablet, or computer.
View the photos in an online gallery.

Camera malfunction is rare, but it can happen.
A camera may fail to record part or all of the experience because of technical malfunction, file corruption, battery failure, memory card issue, or another equipment problem.
The most important part of the media package is the skydive footage from aircraft exit through freefall and parachute opening.

If some non-freefall parts are missing, no automatic refund applies.
This may include missing footage of:
Ground preparation.
Gearing up.
Aircraft boarding.
Aircraft climb.
Canopy flight.
Landing.
Post-landing reaction.
If the freefall section is not captured because of camera malfunction, Skydive Swahili will refund 50% of the media package fee.
