This article explains Skydive Swahili scenic flights, including aircraft type, route, duration, price, booking process, passenger requirements, photography, weather limitations, and charter flight inquiries.
A scenic flight is a private sightseeing flight along the Kenyan coast.
It is separate from skydiving. Passengers remain inside the aircraft for the full flight and return to the airport for landing.
Scenic flights are suitable for customers who want to see Diani Beach, the coastline, islands, mangroves, Mombasa, and nearby coastal areas from the air.
Scenic flights are normally conducted in a Cessna 182.
The Cessna 182 is a high-wing, single-engine aircraft. The high-wing design gives passengers good visibility from the cabin windows.
The aircraft is maintained in accordance with applicable commercial aviation requirements and Kenya Civil Aviation Authority requirements.
The flight is operated by a commercially licensed pilot.
The pilot has final authority over:
Flight safety.
Route selection.
Weather suitability.
Air traffic control compliance.
Passenger loading.
Operational decisions.
Whether the flight can proceed.
The scenic flight lasts 60 minutes.
This is measured from takeoff to landing.
Scenic flights depart from and land at Diani Airport / Ukunda Airport.
Passengers receive check-in and arrival instructions from Skydive Swahili before the flight.
The usual scenic flight route follows the Kenyan coast.
The route normally includes:
Departure from Diani.
Coastal flight toward Chale Island.
Views of mangroves and the coastline.
Flight north toward Mombasa.
Views of Mombasa town and coastal areas.
Continued flight toward Kilifi.
Return flight to Diani.
The exact route may vary.
Route adjustments may be possible depending on the customer’s interests, weather, airspace, air traffic control, and operational considerations.
The pilot has final authority over the route.
The scenic flight price is USD 500.
This price is for the aircraft, not per passenger.
The price includes:

Children may join scenic flights.
Children must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult approved by Skydive Swahili.
The accompanying adult is responsible for the child’s conduct and compliance with safety instructions.
All scenic flight passengers must sign the required participant agreement and liability waiver before flying.
No signed waiver means no flight.
The waiver may be completed electronically or as instructed by Skydive Swahili staff.
